Cross-functional Team

During my time at humanID, I collaborated with 1 designer, 1 product manager, 1 engineer, and reported directly to the company CEO and VP of Product.

What did I do?

Within 8 weeks, I worked with 1 designer to create a data-heavy dashboard interface from scratch. The dashboard contained 10 filters of key metrics and 3 forms of data visualization, with additional functions of datasheet download, interface customization, and data filter, cleaning, and easy comparison.

Agile Development - Iterating while Designing

As a fast-pacing startup, humanID's product development cycle is really short, so I need to handle research, design, testing, and development tasks all at once. My experience in humanID significantly helped me adopt and practice the methodology of agile development. I learned how to break a big task into several smaller project sprints, and collaborated with others in a scrum team to design, iterate, and launch our projects within a short time.

Working in an unfamiliar industry

My internship at humanID taught me how to work in an unfamiliar industry. I spent time networking with designers, product managers, engineers, and industry experts from various teams to learn more about their work responsibilities. I also attended weekly all-hands meetings to enrich my knowledge in the cybersecurity and data privacy industry. In addition, I gained valuable hands-on experience in designing for B2B products to complement my design skill sets.

What did I do?

• Designed a pop-up widget to increase the exposure rate of the donation page. While keeping the pop-up widget eye-catching, the design minimizes the disturbance of reading the website.
• Implemented the donation widgets on the WordPress website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

My Impact

• Significantly increased the task exposure by 90%, and generated $2k+ donations in a month.
